In order to form traditional Sardinia production, a fast lathe was used, s'arroda, a hand-lathe equipped with a flystone, made of wood and featuring a rotating stone, resting on floor base, padruedda, lubricated with olive oil. The craftsman worked resting his back against the wall, half-seated on a wooden beam, mounted sideways between the wall and the lathe. The rotating stone wheel was operated by foot.
