Base canvas weave with additional wefts. It is made with linen or cotton warps and wefts generally made of Sardinian wool, drawn to the full length of the warps.
Patterns are obtained with additional lancé wefts, passed with a selvedge shuttle or by hand on the motif.
 
In order to create the motifs, weavers count the warp threads to pass the additional wefts, following a pattern inspired by traditional samples or technical drawings.
