This weave features a geometric pattern made of raw linen or cotton warps and wefts and additional lancé wefts in a contrasting colour, made of Sardinian wool or cotton, which interlace the warps once every four threads. The motif consists of alternating chequered and vertical lines, as high as 10 or 12 weft passages, and equally visible on both sides of the fabric.
